Have you guys heard about this “capsule wardrobe” idea taking everyone by storm? We recently discovered Caroline Joy, an adorable Texas blogger behind the popular capsule wardrobe blog, Un-Fancy, and we are definitely intrigued!

While the idea behind a capsule wardrobe isn’t incredibly new (the term was originally coined by a London boutique owner, Susie Faux, in the 1970’s), the capsule wardrobe is currently going through a little bit of a modern day reinvention, and one that we think we can totally get behind.

A capsule wardrobe is made up of roughly 30-37 pieces of clothing that you absolutely LOVE. The idea is to find pieces that fit your personality and your body perfectly, and mix and match those pieces throughout time. Caroline chose to establish around 37 core pieces each season as her capsule wardrobe, and then invest in a few more key pieces with each new season, while removing a few pieces from the previous season. Below is her Spring capsule wardrobe collection from last year:

Notice how each piece seems relatively simple upon first glance? Well, that’s totally the point! Caroline used a minimalistic approach to her capsule wardrobe, and instead gets crafty in her mixing and matching of the designated pieces. She demonstrates this perfectly on her blog, with tips and photos on mixing your pieces. We’re loving the way she mixed up this statement scarf with each outfit below.
