Paul praises the Father of compassion after describing severe pressure and dependence on God. The comfort he receives becomes comfort that can move through the body of Christ.

God is the source of comfort, and He often carries it through His people. Comfort can include presence, prayer, truthful hope, practical help, and patient companionship.

Carry it into today

Think of one person walking through something heavy. Ask what would genuinely help before acting. Bring their need before Jesus, then offer the care you can honestly sustain without promising what belongs to God.

A prayer

Father of compassion, meet those who are hurting. Make me attentive, honest, and useful, and teach our church to carry Your comfort toward one another. Amen.
