Small things. Open hands.

Giving has always mattered to Modern Burlap. We want this business to notice people, serve where we can, and hold what we have with open hands.

Over the years, Modern Burlap has supported churches, hospitals, schools, ministries, foster care organizations, nonprofits, community groups, and families walking through difficult seasons. Some gifts have been large. Many have been quiet. Each one mattered because someone knew where help was needed.

We are a small family business, so we cannot fulfill every request. We would rather say that clearly than make a promise we cannot keep.

A few places this has taken us

Our giving history is larger than the few moments below. These are simply some of the ones we can share.

  • Local youth: Modern Burlap sponsored Boys & Girls Club of Austin County youth basketball teams in 2021 and 2022.
  • Schools: We helped create a bench and planter project that students could make their own with handprints.
  • Church and 4H: Our documented giving in 2024 included support for local faith and youth organizations.

Some organizations can be named. Others serve people whose stories are not ours to tell. Those gifts still matter.

How we give

Products placed where they can serve

Much of our giving happens through product donations. A swaddle, blanket, piece of clothing, or meaningful gift can meet a practical need while reminding someone they are seen and cared for.

Focused partnerships

At times, we work more closely with an organization or specific effort where Modern Burlap products or financial support can make a meaningful difference.

Opportunities to give together

When an occasion is a good fit, we may invite customers to help meet a clearly identified need. If a purchase is connected to a giving campaign, we will state what is being given and where it is going. We do not use vague giving claims to make a sale.

What guides our decisions

We consider the need, the people being served, timing, available inventory, financial capacity, and whether Modern Burlap is the right fit. We want to give generously while caring responsibly for our customers, team, family, and the future of this work.

If you represent a nonprofit, church, hospital, school, ministry, foster care organization, or community group with a specific need, you are welcome to tell us about it.

Our giving program is primarily intended for organizations serving others rather than individual financial assistance requests. We may ask for a website, social page, nonprofit information, event details, or another way to verify the organization and need. That helps us steward each request responsibly.
