A little faith together, today.

You do not need to prepare a lesson. Open your Bible, get comfortable, and try this:

  1. Read: Mark 10:13–16. Notice how Jesus responds when children are brought to Him.
  2. Talk: What do you notice about the way Jesus welcomes the children?
  3. Pray: Jesus, thank You for welcoming children. Help our family make room for one another and for You. Amen.
  4. Carry it with you: Choose one small way to help someone feel welcome today.

Little ones can listen or draw. Older children can ask their own questions. Anyone can pass; being together does not require everyone to speak.

Gratitude in an ordinary day

Read: Luke 17:11–19

Jesus heals ten men, and one returns to give thanks. Pause together to notice a kindness you received today, even if the day was difficult.

Talk or reflect: What is one thing you want to thank God for?

A little prayer: Father, help us notice Your kindness and remember to give thanks. Teach us to thank the people who care for us, too. Amen.

One small step: Thank someone for one specific thing they did.

Bring the whole day

Read: Psalm 4:6–8

The psalmist turns toward God for joy and safety. Bedtime can be a place to bring both what was good and what still feels unsettled.

Talk or reflect: What would you like to tell God before you rest?

A little prayer: God, here is our day: the happy parts and the hard parts. Please care for us through the night and help us rest. Amen.

One small step: Each person may name one gratitude or one worry, or simply listen.

You can pray honestly

Read: Psalm 13

This psalm makes room for sorrow and questions alongside trust in God. Your family does not have to pretend that everything feels okay before you pray.

Talk or reflect: Is there something you want help finding words for?

A little prayer: Father, You know what is hard today. Hear our questions and our sadness. Help us receive care and take the next small step. Amen.

One small step: Offer a choice: talk, draw, sit together, or ask a trusted person for help.

Make room to listen

Read: James 1:19–20

James teaches his readers to listen carefully and be slow to anger. When everyone is calm enough, take turns speaking without interruption.

Talk or reflect: What do you want the other person to understand?

A little prayer: God, help us listen, speak gently, and take responsibility when we hurt someone. Show us how to make things right. Amen.

One small step: Name one specific apology or repair. A grown-up should help when someone feels unsafe.

Come as you are

Read: Matthew 11:28–30

Jesus invites the weary to come to Him and learn from Him. Take a moment to bring Him the weight you are carrying. You do not have to turn this into another task to finish.

Talk or reflect: What can you ask for help with today?

A little prayer: Jesus, I am tired. Help me receive Your care, learn Your gentleness, and ask for the help I need. Amen.

One small step: Choose one thing to simplify, postpone, or share with someone who can help.

Love with something you can do

Read: 1 John 3:16–18

John connects love with practical care. Think of a person or family you know and choose one thoughtful action that fits their needs.

Talk or reflect: What could we offer that would actually help?

A little prayer: Father, help us notice people who need care. Give us wisdom to offer useful help and follow through with love. Amen.

One small step: Offer a specific meal, errand, or task; ask what works for them first.
