How to Keep Christmas Centered on Jesus
Christmas can become full very quickly.
There are gifts to buy, places to go, traditions to keep, food to make, and memories we hope our children will carry with them.
None of those things are necessarily wrong. But they can become so loud that the reason for our celebration becomes background.
The answer is not to make Christmas less joyful. It is to keep returning the joy to Jesus.

Keep it simple
Read Luke 2 on Christmas morning. Put one Advent rhythm on the calendar instead of ten. Choose Christmas music that tells the story of Christ. Let visible Scripture in your home remind everyone what you are celebrating.
Connect giving to the gospel
Let children participate in blessing someone else. Explain that generosity is not how we earn God’s love; it is one response to the love we have already received.
Leave room for wonder
Children do not need a perfectly curated Christmas to encounter truth. They need repeated reminders that the baby in the manger is the Savior.
If everything gets busy, return to one sentence: Jesus came for us.
