Learning to Care for God's Creatures
The way we treat an animal in our care belongs within the life we offer to God. Proverbs names attention to an animal’s needs as part of righteous conduct.
The righteous care for the needs of their animals,

Within sayings about prudent and responsible living, Proverbs contrasts care for animals with cruelty. The verse gives moral weight to the treatment of creatures dependent upon people for their well-being.
Practice gentle, informed care
If you are responsible for an animal, learn what appropriate food, shelter, activity, and handling look like for that creature. Seek qualified guidance for health or welfare concerns.
Help children understand an animal’s signals and the need for gentle treatment. Stay involved so both the child and the animal receive appropriate care.
If you are considering taking responsibility for a pet, think carefully about the time, resources, and support involved. A thoughtful decision begins with the needs of the animal.
Thank God for His creatures and ask for a patient, attentive heart. Everyday care can become one ordinary expression of the kindness and responsibility we seek as followers of Jesus.

Creator God, thank You for the creatures in Your world. Help us treat animals with gentleness, wisdom, and responsible care. Teach children and adults alike to notice their needs and act with compassion. Amen.
