A Prayer Before a Job Interview
Before an interview, you may rehearse your answers and wonder what the conversation will hold. You can bring that hope, along with the uncertainty, into a simple prayer.
Commit your way to the Lord;

Psalm 37 calls God’s people to trust Him, do good, and wait patiently when wrongdoing appears to prosper. Its direction is toward a faithful life before the Lord. We can apply that posture to the way we prepare for an opportunity and respond to its outcome.
Prepare well and speak truthfully
Review the role and think about real examples of your work. Be ready to describe what you have learned, where you can contribute, and what you would still need to develop.
Prepare questions that help you understand the responsibilities and the people you may work with. A thoughtful conversation gives both sides useful information.
Before you begin, ask Jesus to help you listen, answer clearly, and treat everyone with respect. Your desire for the position can sit alongside a sincere desire to know whether it is a suitable next step.
Afterward, offer thanks for the conversation and continue with the responsibilities in front of you. You can ask a trusted friend to pray as you wait and consider what comes next.
A prayer
Father, I bring this interview and my hopes before You. Help me prepare carefully, speak honestly, and listen well. Give me wisdom about the opportunity and patience with the outcome as I follow Jesus. Amen.
