Making a Mistake at Work and Taking Responsibility
You notice that something in your work needs correcting. It may be an oversight, or it may involve a choice you need to acknowledge. Start by understanding what happened and who needs to know.

Proverbs 28 speaks specifically about sin: concealing it closes off the path of confession and change, while turning from it is met with mercy. The surrounding sayings call for a responsive heart before God. That humility can guide an honest response when our conduct needs correction.
Name what you know and help put it right
Check the facts and tell the appropriate person clearly. Explain the issue without adding assumptions about someone else’s part. Ask what steps are needed to address the effects and prevent the same problem.
If your own conduct was wrong, take responsibility and offer a sincere apology to those affected. Confess it to God and seek help to change where you need support.
An ordinary error may call for clearer instructions, a better check, or additional learning. Identify what would make the work more reliable.
Bring the next step to Jesus in prayer. His mercy gives us reason to turn toward truth, and responsible action lets our care for others take a practical form.

Jesus, help me respond honestly when something needs correcting. Forgive what is wrong in my conduct, give me humility to learn, and guide the steps needed for repair. Let truth and care shape what I do next. Amen.
