Baby Sign Language in Our Home — Modern Burlap journal

Baby Sign Language in Our Home

One of the little things I loved during our baby years was using simple signs with my boys before they had many spoken words.

We began using a few familiar signs during everyday routines like milk, more, eat, bath, all done, dog, and please. Watching each child begin to connect a sign with what he wanted to communicate became one of those motherhood memories I still love.

This is simply our family experience, not a developmental timeline or a recommendation for what another baby should be doing at a certain age. Every child communicates and develops differently.

If sign language is something you want to explore with your family, learn from a qualified ASL resource and follow your child’s lead.

I am keeping these photos here because this Journal has always been part product story and part family memory, and this was genuinely part of ours.
