Hannah Brings Her Heart Before the Lord
Hannah’s prayer is personal and deeply felt. In the Lord’s house at Shiloh, she brings her longing for a child before God. Her lips move as she prays, though her voice cannot be heard.

First Samuel describes Hannah’s anguish and Eli’s initial misunderstanding of her prayer. She explains her grief, and he responds with a blessing. The chapter later records Samuel’s birth and Hannah’s dedication of him to the Lord.

Father, receive the longings we bring before You. Give us wisdom and sustaining grace through Jesus. Teach us to listen gently to one another and to offer faithful prayer and practical care while we wait. Amen.
