What the Holy Spirit's Help Looks Like in Prayer
Some prayers begin with very little to say. You may know that you need God and still struggle to put the request into words. Romans 8 offers believers comfort in that very place.

Paul describes creation and God’s people waiting for the fullness of redemption. Within that longing, he speaks of the Spirit helping believers in weakness and interceding for them according to God’s will.
Come to God with the words you have
Read the passage as part of Paul’s larger account of hope in Christ. Give thanks for the Spirit’s help in the life of God’s people.
Begin with a plain sentence about your need. You can ask God for help when you are unsure how to pray further.
Stay close to Scripture. Read a psalm aloud or return to a passage about Jesus, letting its truth give shape to your attention.
Invite a trusted Christian to pray with you when that would help. Shared prayer can offer company and words while you wait on God. Rest your hope in His faithful care and keep bringing your heart before Him.
A prayer
Father, thank You for the help of Your Spirit. Receive the prayers we struggle to express and lead us according to Your will. Through Jesus, keep us near to You and help us support one another in prayer. Amen.
