Why Christians Can Approach God With Confidence
You can bring a real need to God in plain words. Hebrews gives Christians a reason for confidence in prayer: Jesus, the Son of God, is their great high priest.
God’s throne of grace
(Hebrews 4:16, NIV, excerpt)
The passage first acknowledges that every heart is open before God. It then directs believers to hold firmly to Jesus, who understands human weakness and remained without sin. Through Him, they are invited to approach God for mercy and grace.
Bring the need to Jesus today
Begin by reading the whole passage. Notice that confidence rests in Jesus and His priestly care.
Name one need before God. It may be wisdom for a conversation, strength to resist temptation, forgiveness for sin, or patience in a responsibility.
Pray honestly and ask for help. You can use a few simple words and give the matter your attention before God.
If the need would benefit from shared prayer or practical support, reach out to a trusted person in your church. Let this invitation to God’s grace encourage both your own prayer and your care for others who need help.
A prayer
Jesus, our great high priest, thank You for Your sinless faithfulness and Your care for us. Help us draw near to the Father with honesty and trust. Give us mercy and grace for the needs before us today. Amen.
