Remembering People in Prison With Prayer and Care
Some people are separated from the ordinary routines of church life by prison walls. Hebrews calls believers to remember them with a concern that reaches beyond a passing thought.
Continue to remember those in prison

Hebrews 13 opens with brotherly love, hospitality, and remembrance of people in prison and those being mistreated. The instruction asks readers to take another person’s circumstances seriously and respond with compassionate solidarity.
Turn remembrance into responsible care
Bring people in prison before Jesus in prayer. Pray for truth, repentance, protection, hope in the gospel, and access to faithful pastoral care.
Ask your church whether it works with an established prison ministry. Learn its requirements before offering time, correspondence, or resources, and follow all approved procedures.
Remember the families affected, too. Listen to what support they welcome and protect their privacy. Practical help may include company, a meal, or connection with a trusted community resource.
Keep the care steady and respectful. Christian mercy can take the form of patient prayer and dependable service within a responsible ministry, with attention to everyone affected.

Lord Jesus, bring Your truth and mercy to people in prison and to their families. Strengthen faithful chaplains and those offering responsible care. Teach our churches to remember with compassion and to serve with wisdom, honesty, and love. Amen.
