A Prayer for the Empty Nest

An empty nest can be both a good beginning and a real loss. Pride in who your children are becoming can sit beside grief for a season that will not return in the same way.

A prayer for this new season

Jesus, be Lord of this new season. Thank you for the years held inside these walls and for the people my children are becoming. Teach me to love them without gripping, to stay available without controlling, and to make room for our relationship to grow. Meet me in the quiet places that feel unfamiliar. Renew my attention to you, my marriage, my friendships, my church, and the work you have given me now. Amen.
