A Young Believer's Faith Can Set an Example
A young believer can have a meaningful influence through ordinary faithfulness. Paul encourages Timothy to give the church an example it can actually see in his words and life.
set an example for the believers
(1 Timothy 4:12, NIV, excerpt)
Paul addresses Timothy in his ministry, urging careful teaching, public Scripture reading, and diligence in his conduct. He names speech, behavior, love, faith, and purity as areas of example. Timothy is to keep growing while attending closely to his life and teaching.
Practice faithfulness where you already are
For a younger reader, choose one ordinary setting in which to respond to Jesus today. You might speak truthfully with a friend, keep a commitment, or treat someone with patient care.
Keep learning Scripture and ask mature believers for guidance. Growth in faith can be visible even while you are still learning how to carry a responsibility.
For an older reader, notice the good younger people are practicing. Offer specific encouragement and appropriate opportunities to serve, with support that helps them grow.
Let the aim remain faithfulness to Christ. A thoughtful conversation, a careful choice, or a dependable act of service can offer others a real example of love shaped by Him.
A prayer
Jesus, strengthen younger believers in faith, love, and wise conduct. Give them good teaching and caring people to learn from. Help every generation encourage faithful growth and set an example that directs attention toward You. Amen.
