Anna's Years of Worship and Expectant Hope
Anna appears briefly in Luke’s Gospel, but her life of worship has been long. When she sees Jesus at the temple, her response is full of thanks and news worth sharing.

Luke introduces Anna as an elderly prophet who worships with fasting and prayer. At Jesus’ presentation in the temple, she gives thanks and speaks about Him to people awaiting Jerusalem’s redemption. Her hope finds its focus in this child, the promised Savior.
Keep turning gratitude toward Jesus
Notice what Anna brings into this moment: worship, attention, and a readiness to speak about the child. The center of her joy is God’s work of redemption.
At any age, make room to thank God for Jesus. You might name one truth about Him from this passage before bringing your own requests into prayer.
Listen to an older believer’s understanding of Scripture. Ask what helps them continue in prayer, and offer your own company and practical care in return.
If you are in a later season of life, consider someone you can encourage with Christ’s words today. A conversation, a prayer, or a short note can offer another person a clear reminder of the Savior who is worthy of our hope.

Father, thank You for sending Jesus, our Savior. Keep drawing our attention toward Him through every season of life. Help generations in Your church learn from one another, give thanks together, and share the hope of Your redemption. Amen.
