Building a Life That Puts Jesus' Words Into Practice
A sentence from Scripture can stay in our mind all morning. The meaningful next question is often simple: what would it look like to live this before the day is over?

Jesus ended the Sermon on the Mount with a picture of two builders. Both heard His words. The wise builder put them into practice, like a person building on rock. The other heard without acting, like a person building on sand. Jesus had been teaching about the kingdom, genuine righteousness, and doing the Father’s will. His closing picture calls us to take His authority seriously.
Carry one teaching into today
Following Jesus involves trusting Him enough to act on what He says. His teachings become visible in the way we speak, forgive, pray, give, and treat the people around us.
Read a small section of Matthew 5–7 today. Choose one clear teaching to consider in its context. Ask the Lord to help you obey it in a specific situation you are likely to face.
If you read with a friend or your family, let each person name a simple response. Later, you can talk honestly about how it went and pray for help to keep growing.
Jesus’ words deserve a place in our decisions as well as our memories. We learn to follow Him one practiced act of obedience at a time.
A prayer
Lord Jesus, help us hear Your words with faith and put them into practice. Give us willing hearts, honest repentance, and strength to follow Your teaching today. Amen.
