Philippians 2:3-5 in Context: The Humble Way of Jesus

Humility is easy to admire from a distance and much harder to practice in a real room with real people.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

(Philippians 2:3-5, NIV)

Read it in context

Paul calls the Philippian church toward unity, then points to the mindset of Christ Jesus. The One who is truly Lord humbled Himself in obedient, self-giving love.

What Scripture says

Christian humility is shaped by Jesus. It values others, notices their interests, serves without chasing status, and rests in the Father who exalted the Son.

Carry it into today

Enter one relationship today without needing to win the room. Listen, share credit, make space, or take the less visible task. Humility can serve another person without erasing the dignity God gave you.

A prayer

Jesus, form Your mindset in me. Free me from selfish ambition and teach me to use my strength, attention, and place for the good of others. Amen.
