Who Jesus Is When Life Feels Unsteady
Some seasons change so quickly that you barely recognize the life you are standing in. Plans move. Relationships shift. News arrives. What felt dependable yesterday may feel uncertain today.
Hebrews gives us one clear place to look: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NIV)

Hebrews 13 is filled with practical instructions for faithful Christian life: love one another, welcome strangers, remember people who suffer, resist the love of money, and learn from faithful leaders. In the middle of that movement, verse 8 names the foundation beneath it all. Jesus is unchanged.
The One we follow remains worthy of trust through every change. His holiness, mercy, truth, and faithfulness are steady. We can bring Him the questions we are still carrying.
For today
Instead of trying to settle every unknown at once, ask one smaller question: What would trusting Jesus look like in the next faithful step? It may be telling the truth, receiving help, keeping a promise, extending care, or simply opening Scripture again.
You do not need to create steadiness from your own strength. You can return to the steady Christ.
A prayer
Jesus, when life feels unsteady, turn my attention toward You. Help me remember who You are and follow You faithfully in the next thing before me. Amen.
