Modern Burlap Birth Announcement

Our new addition -

February 28th at 3:38pm we welcomed our third baby boy into the world, Armor Jett Lischka. During my 6+ weeks on bedrest and throughout my pregnancy, I prayed circles around a smooth labor and delivery for mama + babe. None of my previous deliveries between 35-37w went as I'd hoped. This time, I prayed bold, specific prayers seeking God's hand in deliverance. As I prayed, I believed He was already at work. I believed He knew my heart's deepest desires, He heard my requests, they aligned with His will for our family, and He would provide.

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him” Matthew 6:6-8 (NIV).

All glory to Him! He answered every single prayer from the first week I found out I was pregnant and asked for no morning sickness. He heard my prayers when our ultrasound showed abnormalities at 20w and 28w.  He heard my prayers on bedrest - asking for 36w for baby to thrive in the womb!  He made His unmistakeable presence known during labor and delivery on February 28th when we welcomed our baby boy into the world. At 36w 4d we welcomed our little warrior without a hitch. The ease of labor and delivery and a healthy 7lb 18in bundle of perfection, so wonderfully made by the Master Craftsman, overshadowed all the pregnancy struggles endured. Now I can say with proof and a humble heart, goodness He had in store. I'll forever cherish February 28th and the journey to make it to that date!

His name -

We heard the name Armor about a year ago and instantly loved it, but it was just one of our options. We had a handful of names we liked, and we wanted to wait to find out our baby's gender (which was a surprise) and see him/her before making anything official. After his battle to get here and seeing his little face, we knew our baby boy needed a strong and bold name. Armor it was. We chose the spelling Armor instead of Armour, because we wanted to spell it like the "armor" of God in the Bible. We've dubbed Ephesians 6:10-18 as our little man's special verse:

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)

We've always chosen more traditional middle names for our children in case they don't love their first names as much as we do. Jett was the middle name we chose for Armor - still strong and bold but more commonly used.
