A Prayer for the NICU
The NICU can hold more love, fear, exhaustion, gratitude, and uncertainty than one room seems able to contain.
If you are sitting beside an incubator, waiting for rounds, learning new numbers, or trying to understand what comes next, you can bring all of it to God.
Psalm 23 gives us the Lord as Shepherd. Romans 8 tells believers that the Spirit helps us in weakness and that nothing can separate those who are in Christ from the love of God.
A prayer for the NICU
Father, have mercy on this little child.
Give wisdom, skill, patience, and attention to every doctor, nurse, therapist, and caregiver. Help them see what needs to be seen and make wise decisions.
Give this baby strength for today. Bring healing, growth, rest, and comfort according to Your wisdom and mercy.
Give this family courage for each update, clarity for each decision, and people who will help carry the practical and emotional weight of these days.
Meet them in the long hours and the small victories. When fear rises, bring Your Word to mind. When words are hard to find, help them in their weakness.
Keep those who belong to Christ anchored in Your love and close to Jesus.
Amen.
