Faithfulness, Wisdom, and When to Seek Help

There are seasons when faithfulness looks like perseverance, and seasons when faithfulness also requires wisdom, truth, and asking for help.

Galatians 6:9 encourages believers to keep doing good. James 1 speaks of steadfastness under trial. Scripture also calls God’s people to seek justice, expose darkness, care for the vulnerable, speak truthfully, and use wise help when danger or serious wrongdoing is present.

Paul’s own life gives us both pictures: at times he endured suffering, and at other times he escaped danger or appealed to lawful authority.

Faithfulness begins with asking what God has actually made clear in His Word and seeking wisdom for the circumstance in front of us.

If you are in a situation involving abuse, coercion, danger, or serious wrongdoing, bring it into the light with trustworthy people and seek appropriate pastoral, professional, legal, medical, or emergency help.

God gives His people courage to endure what should be endured, wisdom to recognize what needs action, and community so burdens do not have to remain hidden.

Prayer

Father, give me courage, wisdom, and truthfulness. Help me follow Your Word, receive wise counsel, protect what You have entrusted to me, and seek help when it is needed. Amen.
