Salvation as Foundation, Fruit as Evidence

Trusting God never requires us to stop thinking. It requires humility about the limits of our own sight.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Read it in context

Paul first announces salvation as God's gift, not our achievement. He then says believers are God's workmanship, created in Christ for good works. Jesus likewise teaches that branches bear fruit by abiding in Him.

What Scripture says

Works are not the root of salvation. Obedience is living fruit from a life joined to Christ, never payment for grace or grounds for boasting.

A faithful response

Read the surrounding chapter. Ask what it reveals about God, where it brings conviction, and what faithful love looks like today. Let trusted believers help carry what is heavy.

A prayer

Jesus, keep me rooted in your finished work. Grow obedience that comes from love, not fear, and let every good fruit point back to your grace. Amen.
