When You Feel Behind
It is easy to look around and decide everyone else is further along.
Someone else seems more disciplined, more successful, more spiritually mature, more settled, more certain. Comparison can make another person’s life feel like the measure of our own.
Hebrews gives us a better place to look:
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.” Hebrews 12:1–2, NIV
Those words call us back to Jesus and to the race in front of us.
Faithfulness today may look like work. It may look like rest, an apology, a phone call, a prayer, a hard conversation, repentance, or simply taking one small step you have been putting off.
You do not need another person’s timeline to know where to look. Fix your eyes on Jesus and ask what faithfulness requires in the life actually entrusted to you.
Where can you turn your eyes from comparison back to Jesus today?
