When You Need to Forgive Yourself

You've forgiven others. You've extended grace. You've let go of what they did and chosen to move forward. But when it comes to yourself, you hold on.

Maybe God is asking you to forgive yourself.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9, NIV)

If God has forgiven you, who are you to hold on to what He has already released? If He has purified you, why are you still carrying the shame?

Forgiving yourself is not excusing what you did. It's accepting that God's forgiveness is real. That it covers you. That you don't have to keep punishing yourself for something He has already dealt with.

Let it go. Not because it didn't matter, but because God has already taken care of it.

What do you need to forgive yourself for today?
