What to Do With Anxiety You Cannot Control

First Peter 5 places anxiety inside a larger call to humility, watchfulness, and trust in God.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7, NIV

Peter tells believers to humble themselves under God’s mighty hand, bring their anxieties to Him, remain alert, resist the devil, and stand firm in the faith.

God’s care gives us somewhere to bring what feels too heavy. We can pray honestly while also taking the wise and faithful steps in front of us—a phone call, an appointment, a difficult conversation, a confession, or asking someone for help.

Casting anxiety on God is an act of trust: He is sovereign, He cares for His people, and the future remains in His hands.

What anxiety can you bring honestly to God today, and what faithful next step is in front of you?
