When Waiting Feels Endless
Some waiting has an end date. Some does not.
You may be waiting for a child, a diagnosis, a restored relationship, an opportunity, or an answer you have asked God for many times.
Psalm 27:14 calls God’s people to wait for the Lord with courage. Lamentations 3 speaks of hoping and waiting for the Lord in the middle of grief. Romans 8 describes creation and believers groaning while waiting for redemption.
Waiting can hold both longing and faith. You may lament while you wait. The Psalms repeatedly ask, “How long?” You may also keep praying, seek wisdom, and take appropriate action where action is possible.
For those who are in Christ, Romans 8 gives a steady hope: nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, and God’s saving purpose will be completed.
Reflection
What are you waiting for, and what truth about God can you return to today?
Prayer
Father, You know what I am waiting for. Give me courage to wait for You, wisdom for any action I should take, and faith to rest in Your love and faithfulness. Amen.
