Trusting God When You Cannot See the Way
There are seasons when you cannot see very far ahead.
You may want a complete plan or certainty about what comes next. Psalm 119 gives us a quieter picture of guidance:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105, NIV
God’s Word gives light for the path in front of us.
Begin with what God has spoken
Some choices are already made clear in Scripture: tell the truth, love your neighbor, turn from evil, forgive, care for the vulnerable, and follow Christ.
Other decisions call for wisdom. In those places we can pray, study Scripture, seek mature counsel, consider our responsibilities, and make a decision with humility and trust.
Trust the God who sees the whole road
We may only see the next faithful step, but God is not limited by our view. His character is steady, His Word is trustworthy, and His wisdom is available to those who ask.
When the future is unclear, stay close to Scripture, pray for wisdom, invite trustworthy believers into the decision, and keep walking with Christ.
Prayer
God, give me wisdom where the way is unclear. Anchor me in Scripture, surround me with wise counsel, and help me obey what You have made clear. Teach me to trust You with the parts of the road I cannot yet see. Amen.
