What to Write in a Christian Baby Shower Card: 10 Examples

Celebrate the family, add one sincere wish or prayer, and sign your name. You do not need a polished speech. Choose an example below and change it until it sounds like you.

Short and warm

  1. So happy to celebrate your growing family. Praying for wisdom, strength, and sweet moments together as you welcome your baby.
  2. This little one is already so loved. We are grateful to share in your joy.
  3. Praying that you feel supported and cared for as you learn life together. We are cheering you on.

For close friends and family

  1. What a joy to welcome this baby into our family. We look forward to knowing them, loving them, and walking beside you through the years.
  2. I love the thoughtfulness you bring to caring for others. I am praying for patient days, helpful hands, and grace as you become parents.
  3. We are thanking God with you for this child. May your home be a place where love is practiced, questions are welcome, and Jesus is made known.

To accompany a Scripture gift

  1. I chose this passage because it reminds me of God's faithful love. I hope it gives your family a good place to begin many prayers and conversations.
  2. These words made me think of the love surrounding your baby. Praying that you will keep finding encouragement in Scripture together.

For a later baby or when you cannot attend

  1. Celebrating this child and the new place they will have in your family. Praying for each of you, including the siblings learning a new role.
  2. I wish I could celebrate in person. Please know how glad I am for your family and how warmly I am thinking of you today.

If you want to include a verse

Read the surrounding passage and copy the wording from a named translation. The Scripture readings for a new baby are a useful starting point.

Avoid promises of perfect health, an easy birth, or a particular future. Leave private details about pregnancy, loss, or adoption for the family to share. If you offer help, make it specific and follow through.

Pair your note with a baby shower gift or a free printable. For help choosing, read Christian Baby Shower Gifts.
