A Prayer for a Sick Child

When a child is sick, the desire to make everything better can feel enormous.
Psalm 46 calls God our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. We can bring fear, questions, and love for our children directly to Him.
A prayer
Father, have mercy on this child.
Give wisdom and attentiveness to everyone caring for them. Bring clarity to what needs to be seen and strength for each next step.
Comfort this child in pain or fear. Give rest where rest is possible. Give the family endurance, wise help, and people who will stand with them.
Keep our hearts close to You. Let Your Word steady us and Your presence meet us here.
