(Daniel 6:10, NIV, excerpt)

Daniel 6 describes a decree aimed at trapping Daniel through his worship of God. He continues praying, is sent to the lions’ den, and is rescued by God. The story reveals the living Lord’s power and Daniel’s faithful dependence on Him.

Give prayer a steady place in your life

Read the account with attention to Daniel’s established practice of prayer. Notice that thanksgiving and requests for help belong together.

Consider a realistic rhythm that helps you turn to God throughout your own week. A regular time or familiar daily moment can serve as a reminder.

Pray from Scripture and bring your responsibilities before Jesus. Include gratitude, confession, and requests for wisdom and help.

Stay connected to other believers in worship and prayer. Ask how you can support Christians facing pressure because of their faith. Let Daniel’s account encourage steady devotion to the Lord in the circumstances before you.

A prayer

Living God, teach us faithful dependence on You. Through Jesus, give prayer a steady place in our lives. Strengthen believers facing pressure, and help us support one another with wisdom, gratitude, and practical care. Amen.
