Phoebe and the Ministry of Faithful Help
The help behind a ministry can be easy to overlook. Paul pauses at the end of Romans to commend Phoebe by name and ask the church to care for her in return.

Paul introduces Phoebe as a sister in the faith and a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. He asks the Roman believers to receive her well and assist her, explaining that she has been a benefactor to many, including him.
Care for the people who help others
Think of someone whose faithful help supports your church or community. Pay attention to the actual person and the work they carry.
Ask a useful question: “Is there something I can take care of this week?” Offer a specific task within your capacity and follow through on what you agree to do.
Receive people recommended by trusted church leaders with genuine welcome. Learn their names and ask about their work rather than assuming you already understand what they need.
Paul’s commendation also gives us a reason to express gratitude clearly. A thoughtful word can help a person know their care has been noticed. Let that gratitude lead to practical support as you serve Christ together.
A prayer
Father, thank You for people who faithfully help others. Give us attentive hearts toward them. Teach our churches to welcome, encourage, and support one another, so that our care reflects the love of Jesus. Amen.
