It's possible to be busy and still miss what matters. To move fast, check things off, accomplish a lot, and still lose sight of the people, the presence, the quiet moments that don't produce anything but connection.
Maybe it's time to return.
"Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed, or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:41-42, NIV)
I think about this story a lot. About how Martha was doing good things. Important things. But she was so busy doing them that she missed being with Jesus. And He gently called her back.
Busyness is not the same as faithfulness. Productivity is not the same as purpose. You can do a thousand things and still miss the one thing that matters most, sitting at the feet of Jesus and being with Him.
God is not impressed by how much you accomplish. He wants your heart. Your attention. Your presence.
What do you need to set down today so you can return to what matters?
