You Can Tell God the Truth
Sometimes we hide what is true because we fear appearing weak or faithless.
Scripture gives us a beautiful pattern of honesty before God. The Psalms speak openly about grief, fear, anger, confusion, confession, praise, and hope. First John 1 calls believers to confess sin. Jesus Himself prayed honestly in Gethsemane while entrusting Himself to the Father’s will.
God already knows us completely. Honest prayer brings our real fears, sins, questions, and desires before Him with openness and trust.
The Psalms show us what can happen there: complaint turns toward remembrance, confession receives mercy, fear meets the character of God, and our hearts are brought again under His truth.
So tell God the truth. Confess what is sinful. Lament what is painful. Ask what you do not understand. Let Scripture comfort, correct, and steady you as you pray.
