When Your Strength Is Not Enough

We are often tempted to live as though faithfulness means having enough strength for everything.

Strong enough. Patient enough. Productive enough. Able to carry every responsibility without weakness or help.

Second Corinthians 12 gives us a different picture.

Paul pleaded three times for the Lord to remove his thorn. The answer he received was, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Christ’s grace met Paul right in the place where his own strength ended.

Jesus teaches His disciples to depend on God for daily bread. Paul speaks openly about weakness. The church is described as a body whose members need one another.

We can pray for relief, seek help, use wisdom, fulfill our responsibilities, and acknowledge that our strength is limited. Christ remains sufficient.

Where can you depend on Christ’s grace instead of trying to prove that you can carry everything yourself?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, teach me to depend on Your grace. Give me strength for what You have placed before me, humility to receive help, and faith to trust You when my own strength is limited. Amen.
