You've been going and going and going. And now you're tired. Not just physically, but in your soul. And still, you feel guilty for wanting to stop. Like rest is something you have to earn. Like it's only okay to rest when everything is done.
But everything is never done.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28, NIV)
Rest is not a reward for finishing. It's a gift from God, given freely, not because you earned it but because you need it. And He knows that. He made you. He knows that you cannot keep going without stopping.
Resting is not lazy. It's obedient. It's trusting that God is still at work even when you are not. That the world will not fall apart if you stop for a moment.
God invites you to rest. Not someday. Not when everything is finished. Today.
What would it look like to rest today, even if everything is not done?
