How to Choose an XL Doormat: Measure Your Entry First
Measure the usable landing before choosing an XL doormat. A wide mat can look welcoming, but it needs to fit the space where people actually step and the way the door opens.
Three measurements to take
- Width: measure the clear area between walls, planters, steps, and other obstacles. Include the full pair of doors if you have double doors.
- Depth: measure from the threshold to the next step or edge of the landing. Keep walking space clear.
- Clearance: check the space under any outward-swinging door or screen door. The mat must not catch, fold, or prevent it from opening.
Write the measurements down and compare them with the exact product listing. If thickness is not listed and clearance is tight, ask us before ordering.
Try the footprint before buying
The Numbers 6:24 XL doormat is listed at 47 inches wide by 15 inches deep. Mark that rectangle temporarily with removable tape, then remove the tape after checking how the space works. Open the door fully and consider the path visitors will take.
This example gives you a real size to compare. Check every other design individually instead of assuming all mats share the same dimensions.
Match the material to the location
Modern Burlap's coconut coir mats are best suited to a covered or sheltered entry. Consider rain exposure, drainage, and how often the area stays damp before choosing one. A completely exposed entry may call for another material.
Keep the mat flat on a stable surface. Reconsider the placement if it slides, curls, blocks a door, or interrupts an accessible route.
Choose words for the people inside
A Scripture blessing, a familiar welcome, or a simple pattern can all feel personal. For a gift, choose words the recipient would welcome and confirm the size of their entrance first.
For Numbers 6, read the blessing in its biblical context. The words express dependence on God's care; a doormat is a reminder, not a promise of protection from every hardship.
