How Grace Teaches Us to Live

Grace reaches into an ordinary day: the way we answer someone, handle a desire, or choose what deserves our attention. Titus connects the gift of salvation with a life that is learning to love what is good.

eager to do what is good.

(Titus 2:14, NIV, excerpt)

Paul grounds his instructions for Christian conduct in God’s saving grace. Jesus gave Himself to redeem and purify a people for His own. As believers await His appearing, that grace trains them toward self-control, uprightness, and godliness.

Practice a response to the grace you have received

Begin with Jesus and His gift of Himself. Give thanks for redemption before considering the part of your life that needs attention.

Choose one ordinary moment where you can respond to His grace today. Speak truthfully, practice patience, or turn away from a desire that leads you toward sin.

Ask for help from the Lord and from mature Christians. Growth can include encouragement, correction, and returning to Scripture together.

Notice how a faithful choice serves someone else. Grace forms a people who belong to Jesus and become eager for good works. Let that purpose give warmth and direction to the next small act of obedience.

A prayer

Jesus, thank You for giving Yourself to redeem us. Teach us through Your grace to turn from sin and live faithfully. Grow our eagerness for what is good as we wait for You, and let our lives bless the people around us. Amen.
