Making Plans With Humility Before God
Making a plan can be an act of care. Bringing that plan before God also gives us a place to examine the motives, assumptions, and hopes we have carried into it.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
(Proverbs 16:3, NIV, excerpt)
These proverbs place human plans beneath the Lord’s authority. They address motives, pride, justice, and the ordering of our steps. Committing work to Him belongs within a life willing to receive His correction and pursue what is right.
Pray over the purpose of your plan
Write down what you hope to do and why. Ask whether the plan reflects honesty, responsible care, and love for the people it will affect.
Seek relevant advice and understand the commitments involved. Give attention to practical details alongside your hopes for the outcome.
Bring the plan before Jesus with a willingness to adjust it. Ask for wisdom about the next step and humility when new information changes what seems best.
As you move forward, keep communicating clearly with anyone sharing the responsibility. Faithful planning can include preparation, prayer, and an open hand toward the future, with your trust placed in God.
A prayer
Father, I bring my plans before You. Examine my motives and guide me toward what is right. Through Jesus, give me wisdom to prepare, humility to receive counsel, and faithfulness in the next step. Amen.
