When Your Plans Take a Different Direction
A plan can change after you have already given it thought and effort. The next step may take more conversation and patience than you expected. Bring that moment to Jesus with an open Bible and a willing heart.

Acts 16 records a particular way the Holy Spirit directed Paul’s missionary journey. After the Spirit prevented travel into certain regions, Paul received a vision that led the group toward Macedonia. Their destination changed as they continued the work of announcing Jesus.
Keep the next step rooted in faithfulness
When your own plans change, make space to pray before deciding what to do. Name the decision honestly and ask God for wisdom.
Read Scripture for the kind of person Jesus calls you to be in the decision: truthful, loving, patient, and ready to serve. Those commitments can guide a next step even while details remain unsettled.
Talk with mature Christians who understand the situation. Review the practical information together, including responsibilities and the effect on other people.
Choose the next responsible action you can take. It might be a conversation, a revised plan, or time spent gathering needed information. Keep turning toward Jesus as you do it.
A prayer
Jesus, help me follow You when plans change. Give me wisdom to seek good counsel, patience with uncertainty, and courage to act faithfully with what I know. Keep my attention on Your truth and the people I can love today. Amen.
