Reading a Gospel together can begin with a few verses and one honest question. A family can learn about Jesus a little at a time, returning to the same book as the story unfolds.

Luke opens his Gospel by explaining that he investigated the events carefully and wrote an orderly account for Theophilus. He wanted his reader to have confidence in what he had been taught. This introduction invites attentive reading of the account that follows.
Choose a small, repeatable beginning
You might begin with Luke or another Gospel and read a short section aloud. Choose a time that is workable for your household, and adjust the length to the people listening.
Ask a simple question: what did Jesus say or do in this passage? In the opening chapters, ask what the writer is telling us about His coming. Let children point out something they noticed before adding your own explanation.
When a question is difficult, write it down and seek reliable help. A pastor, teacher, or careful study resource can support the learning. Return to the passage together with what you find.
End with a short prayer shaped by what you read. Then mark the place and continue next time. Over many ordinary readings, your family can become more familiar with the life, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Father, help our family read with attention and understand what You have given us in Scripture. Teach us to know Jesus truthfully, trust Him, and respond to His words in the way we live. Amen.
