Tabitha's Care Was Woven Into Everyday Life

Acts calls Tabitha a disciple and describes her care for people in need. After she dies, Peter comes, kneels, and prays. Tabitha is restored to life. The news leads many in Joppa to believe in the Lord.
Let a skill become useful care
Read the whole account and notice both the love surrounding Tabitha and the Lord’s power at work. Her everyday service belongs within this larger story of faith in Him.
Consider a skill you can offer with care. Sewing, cooking, organizing, teaching, or making a practical repair may meet a real need when someone has asked for that help.
Begin by listening. Find out what would be useful, including any preferences or practical limits, and give in a way that honors the person receiving it.
If you serve through your church, ask where help is needed and what arrangements are already in place. Shared care gives people a community to rely on. Place the work before Jesus, and let attention to another person guide the next step.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the care Your people can share. Help us notice real needs and offer our skills with humility. Strengthen our churches in practical love, and keep our hope and faith rooted in You. Amen.
