What Christian Hope Looks Toward
Christian hope has a living foundation: Jesus rose from the dead. Peter begins his letter with praise for that mercy and for the future God gives His people in Christ.

Peter writes to believers experiencing trials and directs them to new birth through Jesus’ resurrection. He speaks of an enduring inheritance and salvation to be revealed, while acknowledging present grief and the testing of faith.
Give hope a place in today's prayer
Read Peter’s opening words slowly. Name the reason for Christian hope in your own words, keeping Jesus’ resurrection at the center.
Bring your present concerns to God with that hope in view. Ask for faithfulness in the day before you and for help to keep loving Christ.
Share encouragement thoughtfully. A person who is grieving may welcome company and prayer before a longer conversation. Listen for what would serve them.
Keep worshiping and caring alongside other believers. The future Peter describes gives the church reason to persevere in faith, to praise God for His mercy, and to support one another with patient love.
A prayer
Father, thank You for the living hope given through Jesus’ resurrection. Strengthen our faith and keep our love for Him growing. Help us care patiently for one another as we look toward the salvation You will reveal. Amen.
